Sambarela Swimwear

Brazilian Swimwear and Apparel Designer Sambarela available at Pesca Boutique. Katiuska Encarnacion, Founder and Creative Director of Sambarela, is not afraid of a challenge. With her sunny upbringing in the Dominican Republic, this former model knows how to set the world on fire. She was born in the Dominican Republic and spent eight years as a runway and print model. Then moved to Venezuela and Brazil. Sambarela embodies a lot of the characteristics of the cultures she loves. Fueled by her years of experience as a model, her knowledge of fit and quality, and her passion for sunshine and sand, Katiuska decided to pursue a career as a swimwear designer. Her optimism and determination resulted in Sambarela, a luxurious line of Brazilian bikinis designed for the hip, affluent woman who loves fashion and appreciates comfort.

This super chic beachwear with styles equally relaxed as elegant officially launched in the United States during Miami’s Swim Show in July 2011. Sambarela was born from the fusion of two words, samba and aquarela (watercolors), celebrating Brazil’s unique culture and identity. Inspired by the iconic Brazilian samba ballad, Aquarela do Brasil which reflects on the beautiful diversity of the country’s people, colors and land, and samba, Brazil’s national dance, the two words combined create the word, Sambarela. Sambarela’s logo and the 2012 collection’s watercolor palette and playful patterns convey this identity. Katiuska’s love of the beach keeps her traveling to Miami, Rio, and the Caribbean for design inspiration. In August 2011 she will move to Miami with her husband and children to expand Sambarela, connect with her customers and soak up Miami’s weather, beaches and energy, a continuous source of motivation.
